Jon created and led operating partner groups for over 20 years at institutional investors, including Goldman Sachs, Icahn Enterprises, and Elliott Investment Management. He has impacted dozens of portfolio companies in a broad range of industries through operational engagement, talent management, and effective oversight in partnership with management driving change as a board member, senior executive, and board-level advisor for companies in the Americas and Europe. Roles included President of Icahn Enterprises, L.P. (NYSE-IEP), CEO of Philip Services Corporation, WestPoint Home, and Viskase, and board member of Aligned Energy, American Railcar Industries, Crescent Communities, Martinrea Honsel, National Energy Group, PLH Group, Promises Behavioral Health, WIND Hellas, Windstream, Xenith Bankshares, and XO Communications. Earlier in his career, Mr. Weber was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan and a corporate lawyer at Weil. He is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Jon earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and B.S. and M.B.A., magna cum laude, from Babson College.
Nils has over 20 years of experience as a private equity and venture capital investor. He was most recently at Sixth Street and TPG with portfolio management responsibility for investments across a wide range of sectors, including consumer, industrial, media & telecom, financial services and real estate businesses. In this role, Nils held many board seats and interim management roles during the operational turnarounds of portfolio companies. Nils began his career at General Electric, completing GE's Manufacturing Management Program in Brazil and the US, followed by four years with GE's Corporate Audit Staff working across the company. Thereafter, he held numerous executive management roles in GE's Lighting business unit. His last role at the company was CEO of GE European Equipment Finance, one of GE Capital's 20 global business units. Born and raised in Germany, Nils moved to the US in his teens and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Industrial Engineering.
John has nearly 10 years of experience working in various financial and operating roles. Starting his career at Houlihan Lokey, John worked on dozens of restructuring, financing, and M&A transactions – most notably Barneys New York, Exide Technologies, Katerra, and a strategic assignment for the FHFA. Prior to joining JFW & Co., he was a Vice President in the Complex Credit group at White Oak Global Advisors. In this role, he managed several control positions across a variety of industries including technology services, building materials, trucking, and security printing. John’s involvement with these portfolio companies included leading financial restructurings, board roles, interim management, and working collaboratively with management on operational transformations. John graduated from WashU in St. Louis with a B.S. in Systems Engineering and a second major in Finance. While at WashU, John bought, operated, and sold an on-campus trucking company.
Alvaro has over 30 years of experience as a board member and a finance and operating executive. He has demonstrable expertise in adeptly representing financial sponsors in their portfolio companies, while developing effective counseling and oversight relationships with senior management. Alvaro has extensive experience with post-restructured businesses, including Advanstar Communications, Select Staffing/EmployBridge, JCrew Group, and Avianca Airlines. He has deep expertise in strategic direction, executive compensation, senior talent acquisition, operational improvements, M&A, financings and exits. Earlier in his career, he served in principal investing, capital markets, and advisory roles as a managing director at Warburg Pincus, an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, and a securities attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell. Later he served in senior management roles at several media and technology businesses where he was instrumental in shaping strategy, driving growth, and achieving successful financings and exits.
Ben’s business transformation and corporate turnaround experience includes C-Suite roles as CEO, CFO/COO and encompasses public directorships with companies listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ, Toronto Stock Exchange, Warsaw Stock Exchange and Singapore Stock Exchange. Among other engagements, Duster currently serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee of Chesapeake Energy and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of Weatherford International. Duster previously served as Chairman of the Audit Committee of Alaska Communications Systems Group, Chairman of the Board of Netia, SA, Chairman of the Board of Algoma Steel, Chairman of the Board of Catalyst Paper, Chairman of the Audit Committee of RCN, Chairman of the Compensation Committee of Chorus Aviation, Director of Multi-Fine Line Electronics and Advisory Board Member of River Cities Capital Funds. Ben started his career as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers, earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a BA, cum laude, in Economics from Yale University.
Harry has over 40 years of experience spanning strategy, operational transformation, mergers & acquisitions, and principal investing in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. Over the last decade, he has specialized in working with financial sponsors to optimize and monetize post-restructuring companies. In those roles, he has extensive experience in executive compensation, strategy, performance improvement and strategic alternatives. He currently is Chairman for Key Energy Services, CHC Helicopter, ESS Inc., and a Director at Seadrill. Prior to this, he served as the Chairman of EP Energy, Mesquite Energy, Sunrise Oil& Gas, Penn Virginia Corporation, SH 130 Concessions Company, Trident Resources Corp, Woodbine Acquisition Corp and US Oil Sands Corp. He served as a Director and Chairman of the strategic alternatives committee for Gastar Exploration Inc. and Rosehill Resources. He also worked as a Director for Fairway Resources, Opal Resources, PetroQuest Energy, and FlexSteelPipe. Mr. Quarls served as Managing Director at Global Infrastructure Partners, retiring after over a decade of service.
Jeff has decades of business experience in both the boardroom and the C-suite, with a focus on turning around companies that have restructured either in court or out of court. Jeff currently serves as chair of the board of Lannett Company (generic pharmaceuticals) as well as serving on the boards of ATI Physical Therapy, Banza (chickpea-based pasta), and This Saves Lives (snack bars). Jeff previously served as chair of the board of 21st Century Oncology, chair of M*Modal, chair of Physiotherapy Associates, and co-chair of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, each of which had successful exits after restructuring. Jeff also currently is Interim Chief Financial Officer of Advantia Health and Fractional Chief Financial Officer of Higher Ground. Before serving in those roles, Jeff was the Vice President of Advanced Systems for EnerSys, President of IncuMed LLP, CEO of Quallion LLC, and Senior Vice President & General Counsel of Advanced Bionics Corporation. Jeff received his JD from UCLA School of Law and his AB from Harvard College.
Mona is an experienced CEO, serial entrepreneur, private investor and corporate director with over 30 years of experience in driving growth and innovation in global finance and investment. As Managing Partner of K6 Investments, Mona invests across diverse industries, including financial services, technology, and consumer products. Prior to launching K6, Mona was President & CEO of Proctor Investment Managers, a company she founded in 2002. Under her leadership, Proctor was an early mover in GP Stakes investing in both alternative and traditional asset managers and grew from start up to $14 billion in Affiliate Assets under Management. Ms. Aboelnaga Kanaan sold the firm to National Bank of Canada in 2006 and continued as Proctor’s CEO until 2013. Mona serves on the boards of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), Perpetual Limited (ASX: PPT), and Mondee Holdings. Committed to financial inclusion and innovation, Mona also serves as Vice Chair of the Egyptian American Enterprise Fund and advisory boards of Investcorp Strategic Capital Group, Dubai-based Global Ventures, and Rebalance Capital. Born in Cairo, Mona holds a B.S. from the Wharton School and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
